Volunteer Drivers Needed
Help Deliver Meals, Connection, and Care Across Lenawee County
We’re currently seeking volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to older adults throughout Lenawee County. While we’ve welcomed wonderful new volunteers recently, several of our longtime drivers are temporarily unable to serve, and we still have open routes that need caring community members to step in.
Right now, we especially need drivers for our Hudson rural route and 5–10 volunteers to support routes in the Adrian area. Your help ensures that every older adult who relies on daily meal deliveries continues to receive nourishment, a wellness check, and a friendly visit.
Volunteering as a driver is simple, meaningful, and flexible. You don’t have to commit long term. Whether you can help one day a week, once a month, or occasionally as a substitute, your time makes a real difference.
To help you get started comfortably, we offer a “Try It Out” delivery day, where you can ride along or shadow an experienced volunteer driver. This no-pressure option lets you see how easy and rewarding the experience is before deciding.
Routes are short and easy to follow, training is provided, and our team is always here to support you. When you deliver a meal, you’re also delivering reassurance, dignity, and connection to a neighbor who may not see anyone else that day.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Deliver nutritious meals to homebound older adults
Provide a brief wellness check and friendly interaction
Follow short, local routes (typically under an hour)
Volunteer as often as you’re able — weekly, monthly, or as a fill-in one time
Option to try a delivery route with an experienced driver first
Who Can Volunteer:
Adults with a valid driver’s license
Anyone with a reliable vehicle and a caring heart
Individuals, couples, retirees, community groups, and workplaces
Why Your Help Matters Now:
Open routes mean some older adults risk missing a meal or a daily check-in. By volunteering, even occasionally, you help ensure every senior stays supported, safe, and connected to their community.
Ready to Help?
Fill out the form below and our team will contact you with next steps, available routes, and options for a “Try It Out” day. Thank you for helping keep this essential service strong for our community.
