*Department on Aging Response to COVID-19 updated*

The Lenawee County Department on Aging is committed to providing services to older adults in a safe and effective manner during this time of challenge. At this time the following services are being provided as noted:

  1. Home Services such as homemaker, personal care, and respite are being resumed in a slow roll out, assuring that staff and clients are aware of the additional protocols.
  2. Volunteer Transportation to non-emergency medical appointments continues to be provided. All clients are asked to wear a mask, be able to enter and exit the vehicle without assistance, and sit in the rear seat. A two week notice for rides is appreciated.
  3. All Senior Centers are closed to the public, but curbside meals are offered to individuals over the age of 60 at Addison, Adrian, Blissfield, Hudson, Morenci and Tecumseh Senior Centers. To reserve a meal and learn of the process to pick up, call the center the day ahead.
  4. The Home Delivered Meals will continue to be delivered with contactless delivery. We ask that all meal recipients acknowledge the driver to provide verification that client is safe and well.
  5. Daybreak Adult Day Services is currently closed. Caregiver supports, including respite, can be sought by calling Daybreak at 517-266-2588.

We express our continued appreciation to our community members for their patience as we make decisions to protect the older adult  population.
