Food Assistance
Access to nutritious food is an important part of overall health and stability. Veterans and their families who are experiencing difficulty affording groceries or meals may be eligible for food assistance programs available at the local, state, and federal levels.
The Lenawee County Department of Veterans Affairs provides information on food assistance resources that may help supplement household groceries, provide prepared meals, or offer emergency food support during times of financial hardship. These resources are intended to support veterans, spouses, and dependents who may be facing changes in income, unexpected expenses, medical costs, or other life circumstances.
Our office is also available to assist Lenawee County veterans in applying for emergency financial assistance through programs such as the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund and the Lenawee Veterans Relief Fund when food insecurity is part of a broader financial challenge.
