The MMAP Program is a free health-benefits counseling service for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, their families or caregivers. Our mission is to educate, advocate, counsel and empower people to make informed benefit decisions. MMAP Counselors are specialists trained in Medicare and Medicaid law and regulations, health insurance counseling and relevant insurance products. Their purpose is to serve you objectively and confidentially. Information can be given over the phone, by appointments or in the home, if one is homebound or has no transportation.
No fee is charged for this counseling service, however contributions are encouraged so that services can be extended to others in need. The Lenawee Department on Aging is a non-profit organization. Consideration for memorial contributions is much appreciated. Our mission is To provide quality services that enable persons who are age 60 and over to live independently with dignity.

hospital bills and Medicare Summary Notices.
Understanding Medicare/Medicaid
eligibility, enrollment, coverage, claims and appeals.
Enrolling in Medicare Savings
Programs.
Reviewing your Medicare supplemental insurance needs, compare policies and
pursue claims and
refunds.
Exploring long term care
financing options, including long term care insurance.
Identifying and reporting
Medicare/Medicaid fraud and abuse.
Reviewing
and comparing
Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C).
Reviewing and comparing Medicare
Prescription Drug Plans (Part D).
