Home Care Aides are available to assist eligible older adults (age 60+) with grooming / hygiene tasks and household activities, which will help them maintain an adequate living environment. These tasks include bathing, hair care, mopping floors, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, and grocery shopping.
An assessment of needs is made in the home and a care plan is developed. Personal Care is provided by a trained Nurses Aide, for approximately one hour, 1-5 days per week. Homemaker services are offered 1 ½ - 2 hours every other week.
ELIGIBILITY: Persons 60 years of age or older who have functional and physical limitations. For homemaker service one must not live with others under the age of 60 who are able to perform these tasks.
No fee is charged for home care assistance, though contributions are encouraged so that services can be extended to others in need. The Lenawee Department on Aging is a non-profit organization. Consideration for memorial contributions is much appreciated. Our mission is To provide quality services that enable persons who are age 60 and over to live independently with dignity.
