OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Lenawee Department on Aging's mission is “To provide quality services that enable persons who are age 60 and over to live independently with dignity.” The Department on Aging does this by:
Operating
Senior Centers in
Addison,
Adrian,
Blissfield,
Hudson,
Morenci, Onsted and
Tecumseh.
Providing
Home Delivered Meals to those
who are unable to leave their home and are unable to prepare meals for
themselves.
Providing
Home Care Assistance in the
form of personal care and homemaker services for those who have functional
needs.
Operating the
Lenawee, Monroe and Hillsdale Foster
Grandparent Program.
Providing
Respite services to give
relief for 24-hour per day caregivers.
Arranging
transportation for those
who are unable to drive and have no other way to get to medical appointments.
Operating Daybreak Adult Day Services.
Offering health insurance
counseling through the Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP).
Operating a support group
and providing counseling for relative caregivers through the Grandparents
Raising Grandchildren Program.
Coordinating the
Commodity
Food Programs with distribution at the Adrian Senior Center.
The Department on Aging is a department of the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners. The County Commission appoints a 15-member board of directors who, along with the department director, are responsible for the operation of the agency.
