OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The Lenawee Department on Aging’s mission is “To provide quality services that enable persons who are age 60 and over to live independently with dignity.” The Department on Aging does this by:

Operating Senior Centers in Addison, Adrian, Blissfield, Hudson, Morenci, Onsted and Tecumseh, and a meal site in Britton.

Providing Home Delivered Meals to those who are unable to leave their home and are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Providing Home Care Assistance in the form of personal care and homemaker services for those who have functional needs.

Operating the Lenawee, Monroe and Hillsdale Foster Grandparent Program.

Providing Respite services to give relief for 24-hour per day caregivers.

Arranging transportation for those who are unable to drive and have no other way to get to medical appointments.

Offering health insurance counseling through the Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP).

Operating a support group and providing counseling for relative caregivers through the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program.

Coordinating the Commodity Food Programs with distribution at the Adrian Senior Center.

The Department on Aging is a department of the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners. The County Commission appoints a 15-member board of directors who, along with the department director, are responsible for the operation of the agency.
